"Building Towards Butler County's Future"

Providing creative opportunities for expediting transportation system improvements, promoting economic development and enhancing the quality of life in Butler County

About

Fostering collaboration between Butler County's local officials to meet our resident’s and businesses' transportation needs, the Butler County Transportation Improvement District (BCTID) works across political boundaries, providing a local structure that coordinates federal, state, and local resources in planning, financing, and constructing projects. We partner with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Butler County, and local governments throughout Butler County to complete transportation projects that relieve congestion, provide safety, and promote economic development.

The BCTID capitalizes on local government funding to administer and implement regional roadway projects which benefit Butler County and Southwest Ohio that have become too expensive for local dollars. Leveraging those funds, brings state and federal grant revenues to cover project-related expenses for engineering, right-of-way acquisitions and, ultimately, the final construction costs.

Established in 1993 by the Butler County Board of Commissioners, the BCTID includes the Townships of Liberty, West Chester and Fairfield, as well as the Cities of Hamilton and Fairfield. The BCTID Board and governing partners saw the need to broaden their reach and appointed members from elsewhere in the County to the Board to undertake projects beyond the District's area.

Since its inception, the BCTID has worked on dozens of major transportation projects. The economic impact of projects like State Route 129 Extension from Hamilton to Interstate 75, Union Centre Interchange & Boulevard, Liberty Interchange and South Hamilton Crossing is well into the billions in investments returned to the area.

We continue to work with local government partners to provide essential, efficient, and effective transportation projects throughout the County and are eager to serve Butler County residents and businesses in the future.
