Union Centre Boulevard
On October 5, 2000, the TID hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Union Centre Boulevard and its intersection with State Route 747.
The opening created another direct route to I-75 from SR 747. Remarks were made by Greg Wilkens, fromer TID executive director; David Tacosik, West Chester Townshiop Trustees; Chuck Furmon, Butler County Commissioners; and Chris Wunnenberg, Schumacher Dugan Construction.
The extension of Union Centre Boulevard is starting to open many acres for development. Recently, Biggs Foodstore opened a store on the corner of SR747 and Union Centre. There are also plans under way for other development in the area. The road will also help ease traffic congestion on SR 747 and other secondary roads in West Chester Township.
