Union Centre Boulevard Extension
The TID began the Union Centre Boulevard Extension project in late winter 2001. The project provides the opportunity to connect the existing Symmes Road from its terminus of Seward Road in the City of Fairfield to Interstate 75 at the new interchange at Union Centre Boulevard. The prospective benefits to the communities in southeastern Butler County are two-fold. Another east-west transportation link is established to enhance traffic circulation and access to the interstate highway system. Most importantly, the new roadway is the catalyst for continued economic development opportunities in the region.
The project is typical of the other TID endeavors that foster interagency cooperation and public-private partnering. The project is funded by the City of Fairfield, the Butler County Commissioners and West Chester Township. Gratis donation of the needed rights-of-way by the major developers in the area result in considerable cost savings.
