Release Date: August 21, 1997 INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION TO REROUTE NORHTBOUND I-75 TRAFFIC IN UNION TOWNSHIP BEGINNING AUGUST 24 INTERCHANGE CONSTRUCTION TO REROUTE NORHTBOUND I-75 TRAFFIC IN UNION TOWNSHIP BEGINNING SUNDAY Construction of the Union Centre Boulevard Interchange with I-75 in Union Township, Butler County, will reroute northbound I-75 traffic over the exit and entrance ramps between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Sunday, August 24, through Wednesday, August 27. During these overnight hours, crews will be installing steel beams for the bridge of the interchange over I-75. I-75 traffic will be rerouted over the exit ramps and back onto the interstate between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Traffic will be restored to normal each morning at 6 a.m. Steel for the southbound side of the bridge was laid over the last two weeks while southbound traffic was diverted over the ramps. Crews estimate it will take less than one week to complete the northbound side. Originally planned to take over four weeks, this project will take less than three weeks to complete. The interchange is on schedule to open in December of this year. This new method for rerouting traffic over the exit and entrance ramps has not caused any significant traffic delays. |
