Important Milestone for Interstate Connector in Hamilton On Monday, April 24, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Transportation Improvement District (TID) will hold a news conference for the signing of the official agreement between the agencies. This document is the mechanism by which funding can begin to flow for detailed construction studies for the planned Regional Interstate Connector between I-75 and the City of Hamilton. The signing will occur at 10:45 a.m. at the Butler County Engineer's Office on Route 4 in Hamilton, just north of the Butler County Fairgrounds. The event will follow a meeting of the TID, which begins at 9:30. Area State Representative Mike Fox, who chairs the TID, will sign on behalf of the TID. Newly appointed ODOT Chief of Staff John Platt will represent ODOT. In addition to the contract signing, this event marks the first such agreement and project being funded in the nation under the Federal Highway Administration's mandate to establish innovative funding mechanisms for major highway programs. |
