Union Township license fee refund check

19 December 1996

In an effort to refund the Union Township license fee refund checks, the Transportation Improvement District (TID) solicited proposals from various financial institutions and the Butler County Auditor's Office was awarded the contract to issue over $575,000.00 in refund checks to the citizens of Union Township. Provided the information forwarded to the Butler County Auditor is correct, it is projected that all checks would be issued by January 15, 1997.

The Auditor's Office proposal submitted to the TID (a copy of which is attached) indicated a cost savings to the TID, and hence the taxpayers of the county, would occur as a result of the joint efforts of both agencies. The proposal is estimated to reduce the cost of issuing the refund checks by one-half of any other proposal received by the TID to date.

TID Director Darrell Barger said, "The TID is pleased to be able to refund the checks back to the citizens of Union Township. The TID is extremely thankful to the Ohio BMV and the Butler County Auditor's Office for their time and services contributed to the refund of these checks. We would also like to thank the Union Township Trustees in helping to develop an alternative funding plan to fund the much needed road improvements in Union Township." Mr. Barger indicated that the TID is dedicated to providing a safe and reliable roadway system to Union Township which will spur economic development and improve the quality of life not only for Union Township residents but all of Butler County.
